If you have never been to Alaska before, be forewarned that after spending a week here, one never goes all the way back home. You will find yourself forever after feeling a compelling urge to return.

Jacquish Hollow Angler with Chad Hewitt and Rainbow River Lodge are offering a 6 day custom designed wilderness raft trips on some of the most beautiful rivers in southwest Alaska. These trips are for adventurous anglers who do not need the comfort of a lodge setting but enjoy camping right on the river bank with the opportunity to catch and release beautiful leopard rainbow trout, grayling, arctic char, and the numerous salmon species right out the front door of your tent.

These trips are tent camping and rafting adventures in the wild landscapes around Katmai National Prk and Preserve. During the trip you will encounter many of Alaska's wild life including the large coastal brown bear.

We provide as much comfort as possible in these wild settings, but these trips are for adventurous spirits who don't mind enduring wilderness travel conditions. The Rivers

You will have 6 different rivers to choose from to raft. These rivers are the:

Within these rivers there are some with class III to IV rapids and others that are nothing but riffles and long runs. The average drift length of these rivers is 30-40 miles although longer and shorter drifts may be arranged.

The Fish

• King Salmon
• Silvers Salmon
• Sockeye Salmon
• Chum Salmon
• Pink Salmon
• Leopard Rainbow Trout
• Artic Char

They all inhabit these rivers. The date of your trip and your river choice will determine which Salmon will be available.

The large Leopard Rainbow Trout draw most anglers to our rivers. Depending on the river you choose and the time of the year of your float, our Leopard Rainbows will average 21 inches with large fishing measuring 30+ inches. These fish are as strong as they are beautiful!

Dates for 2009 Alaska Rafting Adventures Trips:

August 18-24, August 25-31 and September 1-8

Trips are 5 full days floating/fishing with a half day on your arrival day and a half day on the day of your departure, for a total of 6 days on the river.

Package includes: All camping equipment (except sleeping bag), 14 ft raft with frame, food and an experienced Alaskan fly fishing guide.

Items not included:

Travel to Anchorage Alaska, travel to Iliamna Alaska, personal items, fishing gear, sleeping bag, fishing licenses and alcoholic beverages.

Travel

Our guests will fly to Anchorage on their selected airline. We will then schedule you on a 45 minute flight from Anchorage to the village of Iliamna. From there, depending on your selection of river, the float-plane flight will take 20-40 minutes.

You will be on the river within 2 hours of your departure from Iliamna.
